What and Who is the VHN?

We are a unique collaboration of health care providers in your community.

The Peterborough Regional Vascular Health Network is a unique collaboration of concerned physicians, pharmacists and other health professionals dedicated to promoting improved care for vascular disease.

Dr. William G. Hughes, a Peterborough cardiologist, developed the idea in 2000 and consulted with physicians throughout the large area that is served by Peterborough. Their enthusiastic response led to the formation of a Management Committee that now oversees the work of the VHN.

Sponsors

The work of the VHN is sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry. Sponsors provide unrestricted grants to the VHN. That is, the way in which the funds are spent is without influence from the sponsors. The sponsors are not consulted about any new projects or ideas the VHN chooses to support. The Management Committee is solely responsible for decision making in the VHN.
